Since yesterday was a flying battleship, today is a flying aircraft carrier (which, logic dictates, is the natural replacement).
Of course, this design is based on a zeppelin, rather than mysterious anti-grav propulsion (or Cavorite)
Also unlike the flying battleship, the airship aircraft carrier was actually tried as a concept in the 1920s (although launching and retrieving using a trapeze, a la "Crimson Skies")
